Job summary

Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Weymouth & Portland Adult Learning Disability Team on a hybrid basis. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team across community settings with a focus on adults with Learning Disabilities.

You will assess and treat a diverse caseload, promote independence, and contribute to development of skills in productivity, self-care and leisure.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with people with Learning Disabilities is desirable and a knowledge of their needs is important.
• Community-based OT practice and ability to work flexibly in different settings.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary team is essential and you should be able to adapt to varied caseloads.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat adults with Learning Disabilities in community settings.
• Develop function across productivity, self-care and leisure domains.
• Collaborate with the Weymouth & Portland LD teams and other professionals to plan and deliver care.
