Job summary

First Western Bank & Trust in Harrisburg, SD, is seeking an on-site Mortgage Banker to develop new mortgage loan business, manage the loan process from application to closing, and provide ongoing customer support. You will build relationships with realtors, builders, financial planners, and others to grow our community presence.

Responsibilities include guiding borrowers, explaining pricing and guidelines, training other Mortgage Bankers, and maintaining a clean pipeline with clear communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of banking/lending experience.
• Knowledge of the secondary mortgage market, lending policies & procedures.
• NMLS licensing, registration.
• Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and bank software.

Responsibilities

• Develop new mortgage loan business by building a community network and soliciting referrals.
• Oversee the mortgage loan process from application to closing; provide ongoing customer support.
• Provide training for Mortgage Bankers as needed.
• Maintain a clean pipeline with organized follow-up and clear communication on rate locks and closing dates.
• Establish and maintain an effective network of referral sources (realtors, builders, financial planners, accountants).
