Job summary

NYCHA in New York City seeks a Community Mental Health Associate to help implement interventions at the intersection of public housing and community mental health, reporting to the Community Mental Health Partnership Manager. You will help advance education and awareness, community wellness, and crisis prevention, supporting trainings, meetings, outreach, and partnerships to strengthen resident well-being.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities.
  • Experience in public health or community engagement preferred.
  • Strong communication and ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing NYCHA Mental Health Task Force meetings.
  • Support trainings and citywide events for residents and staff.
  • Build partnerships to deploy community mental health resources.
  • Coordinate outreach and engagement activities at NYCHA developments.
  • Supervise non-employee support staff when needed.
  • Assist in data collection and reporting of program impact.
  • Support collaboration across Health Initiatives teams.
