Job description

Community Manager - Crestview Affordable Housing
Description

Methodist Retirement Communities (MRC) is a non-profit organization with more than 60 years of experience providing quality living for seniors. Guided by our mission to honor and serve older adults as an expression of Christ’s love, we are dedicated to making life good for everyone who calls an MRC community home.

We’re looking for a Community Manager to join our Affordable Housing campus in Bryan, Texas. If you enjoy working with older adults and take pride in delivering excellent service, we’d love to hear from you.

This role offers something hard to find: work that genuinely matters. Most of your days are spent caring for the property and the people who live there — keeping the building running smoothly and looking out for residents so that older adults on limited incomes continue to have safe, comfortable, and dignified homes they can actually afford. That need has rarely been greater than it is today, and for the right person, that sense of purpose is one of the most rewarding parts of the job.

  • Complete a detailed HUD income and eligibility verification process for new residents, and annually for existing residents
  • Support residents and help them settle into community living by fostering a warm, welcoming, and caring atmosphere
  • Manage the application process for subsidized (HUD) apartments, including providing applications and requirements to prospective residents

What we’re looking for

  • A genuine commitment to outstanding customer service
  • Strong relationship-building skills; prior experience working with seniors is a plus, though not required
  • Comfort with detailed record keeping and everyday office software such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • An ability to learn and apply HUD regulations consistently to all housing operations, and in particular the income verification and certification process.
  • A supportive, but fair and consistent approach to applying the communities’ living guidelines
