Job summary

Easterseals Midwest is seeking a dedicated Community Living Specialist in Joplin, MO to help individuals with disabilities live independently at home and in the community. You will provide daily assistance, advocacy, education, and support according to each person’s plan and guidelines.

Responsibilities include ISP-related activities, documentation, transportation, personal care, and assisting during community outings, with opportunities for overtime and growth within a supportive, inclusive

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience providing direct supports to individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Must have basic computer skills and be able to work with a variety of computer systems.
• Driver's license, car insurance and reliable transportation are required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and implements activities related to ISP and works towards plan outcomes and objectives.
• Provides education, assistance, mentoring and support to individuals.
• Provides assistance during community outings and social opportunities.
• Administers medications and provides medical care and support per physician orders.
• Provides positive behavioral interventions as outlined in ISP or behavior development plan.
• Attends required staff meetings and ongoing education and training.
