Job summary

The Morse Institute Library in Natick, MA seeks a Library Assistant through BiblioTemps to staff service points in Children’s and General Circulation. The role supports customer service, shelving, and patron requests, with promotional tasks as needed.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of customer service experience; Sierra ILS knowledge is a plus. This is a temporary, part-time position with an end date of February 1, 2027.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• Knowledge of library materials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to the Natick community and library patrons.
• Utilize the ILS to charge, discharge, and renew materials at service desks or curbside.
• Register new patrons and manage patron records in the ILS.
• Answer telephone calls and emails from patrons.
• Shelve materials and assist patrons in locating items.
• Assist with book displays and promotional materials as assigned.
• Supervise library volunteers as needed.
