Job summary

The Lewiston City Library is seeking a Library Assistant to help patrons locate materials and perform a range of circulation tasks in a friendly, service-oriented environment.

Under the direction of a Lead Library Assistant, you will assist with shelving, Reader's Advisory, basic tech help, and maintaining confidentiality while working as part of a team. Evening and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Experience with customer service and money handling.
• Basic software and technology skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the public in locating and requesting library materials and provide Reader's Advisory.
• Perform circulation duties, shelving, and maintain order of collection and public spaces.
• Assist with technology needs, including printers, databases, and general computer usage.
• Evening and weekend shifts may be required.
