Job summary

The Pennant Group, Inc. is seeking a Marketing Director to lead all aspects of organizational marketing, oversee the marketing team, and build strong relationships with referral sources and payers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field preferred, but not required.
  • 3+ years of healthcare marketing management experience preferred, especially in home health or hospice operations.
  • Ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.
  • Ability to market aggressively and engage tactfully with customers and the community.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate business management and market strategy.
  • Excellent communications, negotiation, and public relations skills.

Responsibilities

  • Directs daily marketing operations including oversight of marketing initiatives.
  • Negotiates service contracts with managed care organizations, government agencies, and other payers to maximize reimbursement.
  • Assists leadership in budgeting and volume projections for marketing allocations.
  • Monitors resource allocations to align with budget constraints.
  • Conducts market assessments and develops comprehensive marketing plans to meet volume projections.
  • Collaborates with Nursing leadership to establish marketing tactics for clinical programs.
  • Executes marketing and promotional initiatives to meet budgeted volume.
  • Builds relationships with referral sources, payers, and customers.
  • Recruits and manages the marketing team and drives performance.
  • Maintains awareness of Pennant Group markets and competitor positioning.
  • Shares marketing knowledge across the organization and facilitates access to community resources.
  • Tracks cost effectiveness of marketing initiatives and reports findings.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by leadership.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for managing all aspects of organization marketing including managing the members of the marketing team, establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customers and referral sources, responding to customer requests and concerns, and negotiating service contracts with managed care organizations, government agencies, and other payers.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Directs all daily marketing operations including providing direct oversight of the establishment and implementation of marketing initiatives.
  • Ensures maximum third party reimbursement through effective negotiation of service contracts with managed care organizations, government agencies, and other payers.
  • Assists the Executive Director/Administrator in establishing organization volume projections in the annual budget and in establishing allocations for the marketing department.
  • Monitors allocation of resources according to budgetary limitations.
  • Continuously conducts market assessments and develops a comprehensive marketing plan designed to meet budgetary volume projections.
  • Works with the Director of Nursing to establish marketing techniques for specialty Clinical Programs.
  • Employs marketing and promotional initiatives to achieve budgetary volume projections.
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with current and potential referral and payer sources.
  • Recruits, selects, orients, and directly manages members of the marketing team.
  • Builds and monitors community, customer, and payer and patient perceptions of [insert agency name] as a high quality provider of services.
  • Provides leadership in strategic planning including identifying opportunities for additional or improved services to address customer needs.
  • Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of [insert agency name] markets including government agencies, major payer groups, key referral sources, and competitor’s market positioning.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field preferred, but not required.
  • At least three years of experience in health care marketing management preferably in home health or hospice care operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.
  • Ability to market aggressively and deal tactfully with customers and the community.
  • Knowledge of corporate business management.
  • Demonstrates good communications skills, negotiation skills, and public relations skills.
  • Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
