Job summary

Lincolnshire West Apartments in DeKalb, IL is seeking a Community Leasing Specialist to guide prospective residents through the leasing process and maintain strong occupancy. You will present model units, answer inquiries, and support marketing efforts in a fast-paced apartment community.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in residential apartment leasing or related customer-facing roles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with prospects and residents while maintaining professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple prospects.
  • Proficiency with property management software and CRM; MS Office a plus.
  • Ability to work weekends and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct apartment tours highlighting features, amenities, and neighborhood benefits.
  • Manage inbound leasing inquiries through phone, email, internet leads, and walk-in traffic.
  • Follow up with prospects and maintain consistent communication throughout the leasing process.
  • Process rental applications and assist with lease preparation and execution.
  • Maintain accurate prospect traffic, leasing activity, and resident information in property management software.
  • Support resident retention efforts through lease renewals and resident relationship building.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives, outreach efforts, and community events designed to increase occupancy.
  • Ensure all model apartments, vacant homes, and common areas are presented professionally.
  • Maintain knowledge of apartment availability, pricing, specials, and market conditions.
  • Deliver exceptional service while adhering to Fair Housing and company policies.

Lincolnshire West Apartments is seeking an energetic, relationship-focused Community Leasing Specialist to join our team in DeKalb, Illinois. In this role, you'll be the first impression of our community, guiding prospective residents through the leasing process while helping maintain strong occupancy and resident satisfaction. Pay & Schedule
  • Pay: $19.00-$24.00 plus commission
  • Employment Type: Full-Time
What You'll Do

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience in residential apartment leasing, multifamily housing, property management, hospitality, or a related customer-facing role preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with prospects and residents while maintaining professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prospects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with property management software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office applications a plus.
  • Ability to work weekends and flexible hours as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with apartment leasing software such as AppFolio, Yardi, Entrata, OneSite, RealPage, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and multifamily housing practices.
  • Proven success achieving occupancy, leasing, or renewal goals within an apartment community.
