Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a Commmunity Programs Coordinator to manage daily operations of community feeding and related programs in Lewiston, Idaho. You will oversee meal planning, kitchen logistics, volunteer coordination, inventory control, and recordkeeping to ensure safe, efficient service for participants and partners.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience in food service, kitchen operations, community programming, nonprofit work, hospitality, or related field.
Experience coordinating or supervising volunteers preferred.
Experience in commercial or institutional kitchen preferred.
Experience working with diverse populations and community-based programs preferred.
Experience transporting supplies/food preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee the Community Dinner Program, including planning, preparation, service, and cleanup for meals each week.
Develop meal plans appropriate for the number and needs of participants.
Order, receive, organize, and maintain food and kitchen supplies.
Monitor food inventory and maintain adequate supplies for scheduled meals and programs.
Coordinate the use of donated food and resources.
Maintain food rotation and monitor expiration, spoilage, or damage.
Prepare food and coordinate with staff/volunteers as needed.
Ensure meals meet food safety requirements and are transported and served safely.
Maintain sanitation records and comply with safety regulations.
Direct Community Lunch volunteers and supervise duties.
Maintain records of meals served, purchases, inventory, donations, and volunteer participation.
Provide information for program reports, grants, audits, and requirements.
