Housing Matters in Santa Cruz County seeks a Kitchen Direct Services Coordinator to prep, cook, and transport meals from Landing and Bridge sites. You will work with kitchen staff and shelter DSCs, upholding safe food handling and daily operations.

Shifts are Monday–Friday, 10 am–6 pm, with occasional holidays. Wages start at $23.00 per hour and go up to $26.66, depending on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 403b, and generous PTO.

Formación

• Minimum of 1 year of institutional cooking experience.
• Must have valid California Driver’s License, insurance, and registered vehicle.
• Serve-Safe certified.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Strong communication and problem-solving with shelter guests.
• Available to work 10 am–6 pm, Monday–Friday, with occasional holidays.

Responsabilidades

• Preparing, cooking, and serving meals meeting Serve-safe standards.
• Safely operate kitchen equipment according to procedures.
• Wash dishes and kitchen equipment.
• Transport meals to Landing and Bridge satellite locations.
• Follow opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain cleaning and sanitizing protocols for a safe environment.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and clean workspace.
• Answer questions and assist shelter guests.
• Distribute snacks and supplies when available.
• Apply housing first and harm reduction strategies.
