Job summary

Volunteers of America Utah is seeking a dedicated kitchen support role to assist in Creekside Stabilization Center food preparation and service operations. The position emphasizes maintaining a clean work area, adhering to food safety procedures, and supporting meal preparation and service.

The role requires high school completion, CPR/First Aid certifications, and a willingness to pass background checks and a drug screen.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED and Food Handlers permit.
• Must have some experience in food service work.
• Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and Utah DHHS criminal background check.
• Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a current driver’s license and have a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, pots and pans.
• Stack dishes, cups, and silverware.
• Remove trash.
• Sweep and mop the floor.
• Perform deep cleaning as scheduled and as necessary.
• Set up and maintain food items.
• Check and record food temperatures at required intervals.
• Maintain cleanliness and follow proper food safety protocol and procedures.
• Know how to safely operate and properly clean machines/appliances in kitchen.
• Assist with meal preparation including food prep and plating.
• Transport meals to Creekside that have been prepped offsite.
• Serve food in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Assist with unloading, organizing, and putting away food from food donations, orders, and deliveries.
• Attend work regularly and predictably and on a punctual basis.
• Perform other functions as necessary or assigned.
