Job summary

The Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida is seeking a Food Services Cook to prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring safety, nutrition, and taste for guests and the community. You will interact with Coalition staff and volunteers, create monthly menus, and adapt to donations while maintaining HCNP compliance.

The role requires a dedicated, organized individual thriving in a fast-paced kitchen and working collaboratively as part of a team to meet mealtime schedules and safety

Qualifications

• Must possess a state-recognized food handling certification (or obtain within 30 days).
• Must attend training on the CCFP and HCNP within 60 days of employment and annually thereafter.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least one year of experience directly related to the duties.
• Two years of relevant cooking/kitchen experience preferred.
• Bilingual candidates and veterans encouraged to apply.
• Speaking and understanding English required for safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including salads, fruits, vegetables, entrées, and desserts.
• Ensure food quality meets health and organizational standards.
• Follow recipes and cooking techniques for consistency.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff and volunteers to serve meals on schedule.
• Label and store leftovers properly and manage inventory with health guidelines.
