Job summary

Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida is seeking a Food Services Cook to prepare a variety of nutritious meals for guests and the community. You will work under the Manager of Food Services and help create menus while adapting to donations and HCNP requirements.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and efficient meal service in a fast-paced kitchen, with opportunities to interact with volunteers and kitchen staff.

Qualifications

• Must have a state-recognized food handling certification or obtain one within 30 days.
• Must complete CCFP and HCNP training within 60 days of employment and annually thereafter.
• Strong emphasis on safety, nutrition, and timely meal service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes including salads, entrées, and desserts.
• Ensure meals meet health, nutrition, and safety standards and follow recipes.
• Label, store, and manage inventory and leftovers per FIFO and health guidelines.
• Coordinate with volunteers to serve meals on time and maintain cleanliness.
• Assist with inventory, orders, and supply management as needed.
• Support kitchen staff and report safety issues or violations promptly.
• Maintain sanitary, organized, and efficient workstations during shifts.
