Job summary

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is seeking a Cook to join our kitchen team in Florida. The role involves preparing, serving, and documenting meals while adhering to CACFP standards and health codes.

You will work to maintain quality, manage inventory, and support family-style meal services in a no-remote work environment. The position requires at least a high school diploma or GED, with an expected minimum of 2 years in quantity food preparation and a current Food Handlers or ServSafe

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Entry‑level; minimum 2 years in quantity food preparation preferred.
• Must have Food Handlers Certification or ServSafe within 90 days, depending on local regs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and cook meals following standardized recipes and CACFP standards.
• Set up workstations and ensure tools and ingredients are ready for use.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure timely meal preparation and delivery.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation and monitor portions.
• Manage inventory of food, supplies, and equipment; report shortages.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries and check quality.
