Job summary

Vitality is seeking a seasoned cook to join our culinary team. You will prepare nutritious meals for residents, follow approved menus and physician orders for texture and diet, and ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met.

You will support the kitchen’s daily operations, supervise staff when needed, and participate in onboarding and ongoing training to maintain high-quality service. The role emphasizes teamwork with residents and families, adherence to portion control, and timely meal

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Two years of experience in institutional or full-service restaurant cooking.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Maintain food handlers permit as required by state regulations.
• Understand and apply food safety procedures and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Review menus and Daily Food Production Records.
• Prepare meals that are nutritious, appetizing, and attractive per menus/recipes.
• Adhere to safety, sanitation, and portion-control policies.
• Ensure food and supplies are available for planned meals.
• Supervise culinary services staff in absence of director or sous chef.
• Attend onboarding, training, and team meetings.
