Job summary

The Next Door Recovery in Nashville seeks a dedicated Food Service Assistant to support meal preparation, serving, and kitchen operations for residents. You will ensure clean, sanitary conditions, coordinate with case managers for kitchen activities, and collaborate with volunteers to provide excellent service in a faith-based recovery environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum comparable experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in large quantities to feed 40-100 clients.
• Complete cleaning of kitchen and dining room after meal service.
• Receive and store food deliveries according to FIFO best practices.
• Assist with monthly inventory of all food and kitchen supplies.
• Ensure kitchen and dining room are clean and sanitized at all times.
• Enforce kitchen safety and cleanliness guidelines with residents.
• Work with Case Managers to coordinate resident attendance for kitchen orientation and chores.
• Work with Volunteers to show appreciation and to enhance their experience with TNDR and clients.
