Job summary

Life Works is seeking a Community Inclusion Specialist to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Longview, WA. The role focuses on creating community activities, promoting independence, and participant engagement.

You will build relationships, document progress, and help participants access local activities, while ensuring safety and confidentiality of client files.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must complete and pass department background check including FBI fingerprint check.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds or 1/4 of body weight and perform non-physical/physical interventions and CPR when needed.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen (does NOT include THC).
• Ability to problem solve, be flexible, creative and adaptable.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Provide opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to develop, plan and participate in activities in the community.
• Support participants with signing up for activities and help maintain progress notes.
• Build relationships with clients while maintaining boundaries and communicating with a diverse population.
• Work independently and as part of a team while adapting to a fluid environment.
