Job summary

The Midlands African Chamber (MAC) is seeking a mission-driven Community Engagement & Development Associate to expand reach, drive fundraising, and champion economic development for Black, underserved, and immigrant-owned businesses in Nebraska and the Midwest.

You will design and implement engagement initiatives, support resource development, and coordinate programs that empower local entrepreneurs while building a thriving network of partnerships across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years in community engagement or nonprofit programs.
• Experience with underserved or culturally diverse communities.
• Familiarity with chambers of commerce or economic development.
• Experience with fundraising or sponsorships.
• Event planning or volunteer coordination.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead community engagement initiatives and partnerships.
• Support fundraising and donor engagement.
• Coordinate programs and events for economic empowerment.
• Manage membership and outreach CRM.
• Assist with sponsorship proposals and grant reporting.
• Represent MAC at community events.
