Job summary

The Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts seeks a Community Impact Officer to lead assessment of grantmaking impact across 33 communities in the region. You will manage the foundation's grant application and review process, staff grant committees, and conduct field research to identify emerging needs and opportunities.

Reporting to the President/CEO, you will cultivate fundholder relationships and collaborate with staff to communicate impact and advance grantmaking priorities,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in planning, development, or a related field.
• At least two years' experience in community planning or development.
• Strong narrative and analytical writing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Experience managing committees.
• Public speaking proficiency.
• Ability to travel regularly.
• Proficiency with digital communication and analytics tools.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Understand, monitor, and report on the impact of board-directed and fundholder-directed grants distributed through the community foundation.
• Collect, organize, and interpret information into clear findings and stories describing impact of Foundation initiatives.
• Collaborate with staff on strategies to communicate the impact of grants.
• Identify emerging regional needs and opportunities and nonprofits best positioned to help.
• Cultivate relationships with other philanthropic organizations and funders for potential co-funding.
• Partner with the Director of Philanthropy to connect fundholders to impact opportunities.
• Manage the board-directed grants process, including competitive grants for five funds.
• Stay abreast of regional developments and share relevant findings with the Foundation.
• Undertake other duties as directed.
