Job summary

Quinnipiac University’s Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine seeks a Community Health Program Specialist to manage the Bobcat Community Health Alliance.

Responsibilities

• Direct and administer the operational activities of the BCHA program with primary point-of-contact duties.
• Ensure compliance with university policies and external partner requirements.
• Manage student engagement, onboarding, and readiness for community-based clinical programs.
• Collaborate with faculty preceptors to ensure supervision and trainings are completed.
• Coordinate volunteer rotations and site-specific requirements with partner sites.
• Collect, analyze, and report participation and outcome data for accreditation and donor stewardship.
• Oversee supply management and inventory for outreach services.
• Manage financial transactions, including requisitions, expenses, and invoices.
• Monitor program expenses and assist with budget adherence.
• Coordinate mobile unit logistics, vehicle maintenance, and equipment readiness.
• Maintain vehicle licensing, registration, and insurance coverage for the mobile unit.
• Follow SOPs and recommend process improvements.
• Engage in other duties as assigned.

Overview:

The Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University invites applications for a Community Health Program Specialist. Under the supervision of the Director of Community & Global Health Experiential Learning, the Community Health Program Specialist manages the administration of the QU Netter’s Bobcat Community Health Alliance (BCHA) program. BCHA is a student-led, faculty-mentored outreach program that offers screening, basic health service and health education for underserved and vulnerable populations provided by students, with supervision and coordination from licensed health professionals. The Community Health Program Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program and will foster strong, collaborative relationships with faculty, students, staff, and institutional partners and work closely with stakeholders to deliver outstanding volunteer clinical community engagement opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience working in both clinical and academic settings.

Responsibilities:

• Direct and administer the operational activities of the BCHA program, serving as the primary point of contact for students, faculty, clinical partners, and community organizations while ensuring alignment with program objectives and school priorities.
• Ensure compliance with all university, accreditation, clinical partner, and site policies and procedures
• Manage BCHA student engagement processes, including volunteer placement, onboarding compliance, and readiness requirements to support participation in community-based clinical programs.
• Liaise with faculty preceptors to ensure appropriate clinical supervision during outreaches, and ensure that preceptors complete required trainings, and comply with university legal and liability protocols
• Collaborate with community and clinical partner sites to schedule and manage student volunteer rotations, preceptor supervision, and any site-specific requirements
• Collect, analyze, and report program participation and outcome data to support accreditation requirements, donor stewardship, program evaluation and strategic decision making.
• Oversee supply management, including tracking inventories of point of care tests and outreach supplies to ensure operational readiness and uninterrupted delivery of outreach services.
• Directly manage financial transactions, including entering requisitions and expenses, processing expense reports, paying invoices, procuring supplies, and transferring funds in accordance with university policy and procedure
• Monitor program expenses and assist leadership with budget adherence
• Coordinate mobile unit logistics, ensuring vehicle maintenance, fuel tracking, and equipment readiness
• Maintain record of vehicle licensing, registration, and insurance coverage related to the mobile unit
• Use standard operating procedures for program management and make recommendations for improving processes
• Engage in other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Master's degree (MPH, MSW, MBA, MPA, MHA) is preferred

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant professional experience preferably in healthcare administration, higher education, or a related environment
• Excellent communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and manage competing demands
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
• Attention to detail and a thorough, detail-oriented approach to all aspects of work
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Basic financial bookkeeping skills, with demonstrated experience working with budgets, tracking expenditures is highly desired
• Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
• Experience developing and supporting program outreach initiatives, communications, and engagement activities
