Job summary

Pottawattamie County Public Health seeks a Community Health and Opioid Strategist to oversee opioid initiatives, assessments, and health improvement plans. You will procure and manage grants addressing community needs and align programs with public health functions.

The role leads the Community Health Organizer and Health Educator, coordinates with the Epidemiologist, and develops data-informed prevention strategies for the county.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or related field required.
• Four years of related work experience at minimum; Master’s preferred.
• Two years of supervisory or management experience.
• Valid driver’s license at time of hire and maintained during employment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate opioid activities, needs assessments, and health improvement plans.
• Procure and manage grants addressing identified community needs.
• Lead, supervise and train Community Health Organizer and Health Educator.
• Coordinate with Epidemiologist to provide actionable data and guide prevention initiatives.
