Job summary

You will support community health initiatives, engage with stakeholders, and gain experience in non-profit health programs while contributing to hypertension control and nutrition security efforts.

Qualifications

• Seniors or graduate students pursuing public health, community health, advocacy, or related degrees.
• Demonstrated ability to research health topics and translate findings into actionable guidance.
• Knowledge of local healthcare systems is a plus.
• Experience with community engagement and health initiatives.
• Willingness to travel to local events and meetings.
• Bilingual Spanish is preferred but not required.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint; Canva basics helpful.
• Reliable equipment: Wi‑Fi and transportation.
• Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F 9am‑5pm.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing community health initiatives across diverse communities.
• Support work around hypertension control, nutrition security, and tobacco/vaping initiatives.
• Assist with internal program evaluations.
• Help the community impact team communicate local impact.
• Identify impact stories and develop materials for sharing.
• Create and manage a volunteer database and respond to inquiries.
• Develop resources like playbooks to meet community health needs.
• Explore partnerships with local organizations on priority issues.
• Assist with trainings and community impact meetings.
• Attend health fairs and events as needed.
• Support CPR demonstrations and other health engagement activities.
