Job summary

CAMBA is hiring a Health Educator for a part-time role at our Brooklyn location. The position focuses on outreach, coalition development, and community education to prevent substance misuse among LGBTQIA+ youth and other communities.

The Health Educator will develop a social marketing plan, coordinate trainings, collect data for assessments, and liaise with diverse sectors to broaden the coalition’s reach. Evening/weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• One year of relevant experience, preferably in a mid-sized organization.
• Strong written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Experience with LGBTQ+ youth and community engagement.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Preferred: bilingual in Spanish or Haitian Creole.

Responsibilities

• Participate in outreach, recruitment, and tabling events.
• Collaborate with supervisor and coalition to implement a social marketing and social media plan.
• Coordinate trainings/presentations for coalition and community members.
• Collect survey and interview data for community assessment.
• Liaise with diverse sectors to expand coalition reach.
• Recruit, empower, and retain coalition members.
• Participate in coalition and subcommittee meetings.
• Prepare marketing materials for the program.
• Lead/co-lead meetings with the coalition and subcommittees.
• Other duties as assigned.
