Job summary

The National Center for Urban Solutions - NCUS is seeking a Community Health Advocate to work within communities, identify eligible participants, and enroll them in a health study. You will engage directly with community members and collaborate with local organizations to build trust and promote informed participation.

You will educate participants, provide ongoing support, and help address barriers such as transportation or language to ensure equitable enrollment and retention in the study.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and cultural competency skills.
• Experience working directly with diverse community populations or in outreach.
• Ability to build trust quickly in community settings.
• Problem-solving skills to address participation barriers.
• Ability to manage multiple outreach efforts independently.

Responsibilities

• Actively inform community members about the study and assess eligibility.
• Build relationships with community organizations, clinics, and leaders.
• Assist individuals through enrollment, scheduling, and follow-up.
• Provide in-person outreach, sessions, and distribute study materials.
• Offer ongoing support and address barriers to participation.
