Job summary

Qualifications

• HS or equivalent preferred.
• Min. one year working with the developmentally disabled population preferred.
• Valid and qualified NYS driver’s license required.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• CPR/First Aid and defensive driving training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement habilitation plans for participants by reviewing records, observing and providing feedback to improve participants’ skills.
• Assist and support participants in developing and maintaining independent functioning, including personal hygiene tasks.
• Utilize information to provide needed support and ensure community activities are appropriate.
• Implement community based activities for participants.
• Train and support participants in volunteer activities in the community to staff satisfaction.
• Oversee safe arrival and departure of participants to and from the Day Habilitation site.
