Job description

Company Overview

Our client runs an intensive, in-person program in Austin that teaches non-technical professionals to actually build with AI — agents, automations, voice systems, real working software. It's a small, early-stage, founder-led team, and its best students come from word of mouth and from meeting the team in person, not from ads.

Your Role

Austin has an AI, startup, or tech meetup nearly every night of the week, and this role exists to make sure the company has a real person in that room. This isn't handing out flyers — it's finding the marketing manager tired of being blocked by engineering, the founder who wants to prototype without hiring, or the ops lead who knows AI is coming for their job, and showing them there's a way to fix that. You'll work the room, qualify who's a real fit, and get the right people to a call, logging and following up on every lead so nothing goes cold.

You’ll:
  • Attend 4-5 meetups, demo nights, and community events a week across Austin's AI, startup, and coworking scene
  • Start conversations with strangers and quickly figure out who's a fit and who isn't
  • Explain what the program teaches clearly and specifically in 20 seconds to a skeptic, and in 5 minutes to someone interested — no buzzwords
  • Collect contact info and log every qualified lead the same night
  • Book intro calls and hand off warm leads to the admissions process
  • Follow up over text, LinkedIn, and email so leads don't go cold
  • Tell the team which rooms are worth going back to and which are a waste of time
You Bring:
  • Genuinely social — you'd go to these events anyway, and walking up to strangers doesn't cost you anything
  • Comfort with sales fundamentals: qualifying, handling "I'll think about it," and asking for the next step
  • A clear communicator who can explain something complex in two sentences or five minutes, depending on the audience
  • Curiosity about AI and tools — you use them yourself and can talk about them credibly (no coding required)
  • Reliability and self-management; you're comfortable being judged on results, not hours logged
  • Availability most weeknight evenings, plus occasional daytime and weekend events
Bonus Points:
  • Already plugged into the Austin tech, startup, or AI community
  • Experience in sales, recruiting, community management, events, or hospitality
  • A following or network you can actually tap
What’s Offered:
  • Hourly base pay plus a bonus per qualified lead and a larger bonus per enrolled student
  • Top performers earn significantly more than base
  • Direct access to the founder and real input into which events are worth the team's time
  • A self-managed role — no one checking that you showed up, just the numbers
  • Part-time hours that fit around a day job or other evening commitments
  • A front-row seat to a fast-growing, early-stage AI education company
Interview Process
  • Screening call with Atomic HR
  • Discovery call with the founder
  • Live pitch practical — deliver your 20-second and 5-minute pitch on the spot
  • Final conversation on fit, schedule, and comp
