Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation is seeking a Supported Employment Specialist to help people with serious mental illnesses obtain competitive work in the community and to ensure workplace success through essential supports.

The role includes delivering outreach, job development, and coordination with mental health providers, along with comprehensive documentation and adherence to EBP guidelines, in a Maryland setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mental health or related field is required.
• Experience with serious mental illness and vocational services preferred.
• Two years of professional experience in human services, counseling, crisis intervention, or related fields is required.
• Knowledge of job development and labor market is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide community-based supported employment services per procedures and MD EBP requirements.
• Perform job development when the client expresses a desire to work.
• Develop activities integrating clients with non-disabled coworkers (e.g., job fairs, company events).
• Assist in outreach services including visits and transportation to/from program and on-the-job coaching as needed.
• Provide Clinical Coordination Services per EBP guidelines to align employment with mental health treatment.
• Complete all daily visits, monthly summaries, and semi-annual documentation per EBP and program guidelines.
