Job summary

Southwest Care Center is seeking a full-time Primary Care Medical Assistant for the Jefferson Clinic in Albuquerque, NM. The role supports nurses and providers, performs basic clinical tasks, and helps ensure smooth patient flow in a busy community health setting.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of patient care in a family practice, an accredited medical assisting program, and BLS certification. The clinic offers comprehensive benefits and a strong commitment to serving underserved communities.

Qualifications

• One year or more direct patient care in a family medical practice preferred.
• Completion of a medical assisting program or certification highly desirable.
• Basic Life Support required.
• Athena EMR experience preferred.
• Team collaborator and patient advocate in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients per established protocols (vital signs, measurements, tests).
• Accurate charting in medical records per SCC policies.
• Assist nurses and providers as needed; maintain exam rooms.
• Perform phlebotomy and injections as trained; manage specimens.
• Schedule, reschedule, and follow up on appointments; maintain infection control.
