Job summary

The Community Builders, Inc. is seeking a full-time Janitor in Chicago, IL to maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the community. The role requires five days per week in the office and involves indoor and exterior cleaning tasks, with collaboration with residents and team members.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma and a valid driver’s license, with the ability to work in outdoor conditions and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English communication.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks and work outdoors.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Empty trash cans and clean windows, walls, floors, stairwells and carpets as scheduled.
• Maintain exterior grounds: pick up litter and manage trash areas.
• Assist maintenance staff with landscaping: sweep sidewalks, rake, plant flowers, and mulch.
• Clean vacant apartments during turnover.
• Replace smoke/CO batteries and light bulbs; assist with minor deficiencies.
• Assist in snow removal and be available during weather events.
