Job summary

Ada S McKinley Community Services Inc in Chicago, IL is seeking a janitor to perform daily cleaning of commercial, industrial, or office buildings under the direct supervision of the project manager.

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, washing, vacuuming, carpet care, and periodic floor maintenance. Requires a high school diploma and 6 months janitorial experience. Disability documentation is required in accordance with policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months experience in janitorial/custodial field or completion of a janitorial/custodial training program.
• Documentation is required detailing the disability. such as a psychologist or physician assessment on clinic/letterhead with doctor’s signature.

Responsibilities

• Cleans floors by sweeping and mopping as per cleaning schedule.
• Washes mirrors, stalls, walls, sinks and baseboards.
• Vacuuming, shampooing and scrubbing carpets.
• Conducts periodic buffing, stripping and waxing of floors.
• Cleans water fountains, telephone booths, astray, and janitorial closets.
