Job summary

The City of McKinney is seeking a Recreation Events Coordinator to plan and manage City-sponsored events in McKinney, TX. This on-site role requires coordinating with City departments, vendors and partners to ensure safe, successful events and strong guest experiences.

Responsibilities include budgeting, branding, post-event analysis, and data reporting while supporting a positive team culture and flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of event management and sales experience in multi-use facilities or related fields.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required.
• Strong collaboration with City departments, vendors and community partners.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and implement City-sponsored events, festivals, ceremonies and races.
• Assist with sponsorship asset proposals and agreements.
• Develop and monitor event budgets and timelines; procure equipment and supplies.
• Coordinate branding, messaging, website content, and social media for events.
• Attend city events after-hours; maintain calm, professional demeanor in fast-paced environments.
• Compile and analyze event data and reports for planning and improvement.
• Coordinate event rentals, scheduling, and logistics under the Special Events Supervisor.
