Job summary

Acacia Network in Bronx, NY is seeking a Community Engagement Specialist to implement and oversee recreational programs designed to meet the physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and cultural needs of residents. This role emphasizes teamwork within a culturally diverse environment and flexibility for evening/weekend activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, Counseling, CRPA, CRPA-P and/or related recreational courses preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide recreational programs that meet a diverse population of residents.
• Set up and organize equipment for programs; oversee residents and encourage participation.
• Follow safety policies and protocols in the community.
• Maintain effective communication with facility departments and staff.
• Support volunteers as needed.
• Maintain inventory of department equipment.
• Report risks, hazards, incidents and accidents to supervisor or Facilities Manager.
• Document residents’ participation in programs in the electronic health record system (AWARDS) and discuss progress in multidisciplinary meetings.
• Escort, transport, and assist residents to programs.
• Perform other related duties as requested by supervisor.
