Job summary

VOLIES is seeking a full-time Community Engagement Project Coordinator to support corporate volunteering and community engagement programs with a multinational tech client in Northern Virginia. This 40-hour-per-week role combines event planning, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on coordination across multiple sites.

You will manage local events, build partnerships with nonprofits and vendors, measure outcomes, and report impact.

Qualifications

• University degree in Event Management, Political Science, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Volunteerism, community engagement, social impact positions, event management.
• Experience with community events, social impact initiatives, and/or corporate volunteering programs.
• Strong project coordination, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Background in project management.
• Ability to work effectively in corporate environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main local contact for in-person volunteer events across North Virginia and surrounding areas.
• Develop relationships with external vendors, community stakeholders, nonprofits, and corporate volunteers.
• Plan and implement community-based programs aligned with project objectives.
• Promote employee involvement via newsletters, social media, blogs, and emails.
• Support the planning and admin tasks involved in the volunteer events and community events execution.
• Measure and report on program outcomes and social impact.
• Occasional travel to other cities in the US for team offsites may be required.
• Work evenings and weekends for events; compensated on weekdays.
• Residency in Northern Virginia; valid driver's license and own car.

VOLIES is hiring a full-time Community Engagement Project Coordinator

Location: Northern Virginia

At VOLIES, we’re looking for a passionate and organized professional to join our global team as a Community Engagement Project Coordinator. This is a full time (40-hours per week) focused on supporting corporate volunteering and community engagement programs in partnership with a multinational tech company based in Northern Virginia and surroundings.

About the Role

We’re looking for someone with the ability to coordinate high-impact community engagement and corporate volunteerism projects in collaboration with corporate clients and local institutions or non-profit organizations.

This role will have a flexible schedule, structured around deliverables and goal completion. The hour allocation will be defined collaboratively with the client and depending on the projects´ events and milestones.

It requires excellent communication skills with a diverse range of stakeholders, as well as the ability to build meaningful relationships with local communities and effectively plan and implement on-the-ground events and programs aligned with our clients’ values and goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the main local point of contact for in-person volunteer and community events across North Virginia and surrounding areas, coordinating and supporting the delivery of events and workshops while driving employee participation and engagement, as part of an international team leading the projects.
• Support the development of strong relationships with external vendors, community stakeholders, nonprofit organizations, and corporate volunteers.
• Plan and implement community-based programs in line with established standards and project objectives.
• Use various communication channels (newsletters, social media, blogs, internal emails) to promote employee involvement in community engagement activities, in line with client requirements.
• Support the planning and admin tasks involved in the volunteer events and community events execution.
• Measure and report on program outcomes and social impact.
• Occasional travel to other cities in the US for team offsites may be required
• Working on evenings and Weekends in volunteer events might be needed occasionally and will be compensated during other weekdays
• Residency in Northern Virgnia.
• Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and have their own car.
• University degree (bachelor's and/or Master’s) in Event Management, Political Science, Communications, Public Relations, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Volunteerism, community engagement, social impact positions, event management
• Previous experience working with community events, social impact initiatives, and/or corporate volunteering programs.
• Strong project coordination, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Background in project management
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in corporate environments
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of local community dynamics and resources
• Experience with event planning and coordination
• Familiarity with data collection and analysis tools

Working Conditions

Full-time position: 40 hours per week

Working agreement, hybrid:

• Homeworking
• Attendance in average 3 times a week to in-person meetings or events with NGOs, client´s offices or other partners in the priority locations

A great part of the role consists of attending community projects and volunteering events in different locations. A specific area will be identified as the central working area (with a 45-minute drive spread) and millage outside that will be covered as well as hotels/meals on occasional long travels if needed.
