Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ) in New York seeks a Community Coordinator who will build strong ties with youth, families, and seniors, support attendance, and help deliver engaging, culturally relevant programs across the center.

You’ll develop partnerships, coordinate events, track outcomes, and report to leadership, contributing to HCZ’s mission of breaking the cycle of poverty through comprehensive, on-the-ground services.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Education, Social Work, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in community-based or youth/family-serving organizations.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful connections with youth, adults, and senior participants and serve as liaison between the community center and families.
• Track daily and weekly attendance; identify barriers and implement strategies to improve retention.
• Develop and sustain partnerships with local organizations, service providers, and community leaders; coordinate events and center-wide initiatives.
• Lead daily operations and logistics of youth, adult, and senior programs; ensure high-quality, engaging programs.
• Maintain records of attendance, engagement, and referral outcomes; prepare monthly reports for leadership.
