Job summary

Harlem Children’s Zone is seeking a Community Coordinator to engage families and participants, support attendance, and strengthen community partnerships across HCZ’s multi-generational center. The role emphasizes culturally relevant programming and active collaboration with staff to ensure strong program delivery.

You will help track outcomes, communicate with families, and support youth, adult, and senior programming while upholding HCZ’s mission to break the cycle of poverty through education

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, Social Work, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience working for a community-based or youth/family-serving organization.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across generations and cultures.
• Experience with program coordination, community outreach, or case management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or database systems for tracking and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful connections with youth, adults, and senior participants.
• Serve as a primary liaison between the community center and families.
• Conduct outreach and maintain regular communication through phone calls, in-person meetings, and events.
• Track daily and weekly attendance across all program areas; identify barriers to participation.
• Develop and sustain partnerships with local organizations, service providers, and community leaders.
