Job summary

The Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science seeks a Program Coordinator II to lead community engagement initiatives within AXIS.

You will develop, coordinate, and promote programs, events, and resources that advance the Center’s mission, working with partners and diverse communities in the south Los Angeles region. Responsibilities include managing outreach campaigns, creating promotional materials, writing grants, supervising staff and volunteers, collecting feedback, and reporting

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year college degree in Health Sciences.
• 2+ years coordinating educational programs in an academic setting.
• Experience writing grants and proposals to funding agencies.
• Ability to communicate complex program information to diverse audiences.
• Ability to develop evaluation metrics and promotional materials.
• Experience coordinating with HR and supervising staff.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain community engagement programs, initiatives, and resources that advance the Center’s mission and goals.
• Work with internal and external partners to identify collaboration opportunities.
• Serve as liaison between the Center and communities to promote relationships.
• Promote CDU AXIS research projects to physicians, providers, and organizations.
• Manage outreach events and campaigns, including planning and budgeting for monthly and annual conferences.
• Develop marketing and promotional materials including social media.
• Write grants and proposals to secure funding.
• Train and supervise staff and volunteers.
• Collect data and feedback to assess effectiveness and plan improvements.
• Attend community meetings and events to represent the Center.
• Provide administrative coordination of Community Advisory Boards.
• Prepare reports and maintain records.
