Job summary

SB Energy Corp. in Austin, TX seeks a Community Development Manager to serve as a local liaison, building trusted relationships and strategic partnerships with residents, schools, and local officials.

You will lead outreach, translate community priorities into benefits, and coordinate activity across development, construction, and operations. You will design and implement engagement plans, organize listening sessions and town halls, and advance workforce development, education, and public-safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
• 6+ years in community engagement, business development, market development, economic development, public policy, or program/project management.
• Proven track record engaging and building trust with diverse community stakeholders for large infrastructure or technology projects.
• Experience with external communications plans, including crisis communication management.
• Experience integrating community benefits into development strategies.
• Strong public speaking and facilitation skills.
• Ability to manage sensitive political and reputational issues.
• Experience managing contractors, agencies, or other third-parties.
• Understanding and presenting strategic recommendations from data sources.
• Collaborative and adaptable, with cross-government, community, and corporate collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with residents, officials, schools, chambers of commerce, nonprofits, civic groups, and emergency responders.
• Execute community engagement strategy with meetings, listening sessions, and open houses.
• Represent SB Energy at community events and briefings; communicate project updates and concerns.
• Coordinate community concern resolution and track issues.
• Draft updates, FAQs, presentations for stakeholders.
• Identify community priorities and drive investments in grants, sponsorships, and partnerships.
• Build relationships with schools, colleges, workforce orgs, and local businesses; foster workforce training paths.
