About Us

The New Mexico State Investment Council (SIC) manages one of the largest and fastest‑growing sovereign wealth funds in the nation, generating billions of dollars each year to support the prosperity of New Mexicans. Our investments provide cradle‑to‑career funding that strengthens early childhood programs, public K‑12 education, tuition‑free college, universities, hospitals, and many other essential services statewide. Beyond education and healthcare, SIC capital helps power conservation initiatives, rural libraries, addiction recovery programs, and workforce development.

Our team of roughly 40 professionals is deeply committed to this mission. We make strategic investments that deliver strong financial returns while creating meaningful statewide economic impact across the state. At the same time, we are helping the state transition away from its historic reliance on oil and gas by building a durable, diversified source of public revenue. Over the next decade, SIC’s portfolios are projected to return more than $42 billion to the state; funding that will increasingly sustain the programs New Mexicans rely on every day.
