Job summary
New Mexico State Investment Council (NMSIC) seeks a Portfolio Manager for its National Private Equity Program in Santa Fe. The role partners with the Asset Class Director, managing the full lifecycle of manager relationships and execution.
You will source, underwrite, and monitor managers, translating strategy into actionable investment decisions while overseeing governance and risk factors to support disciplined portfolio construction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; experience in institutional investing, asset management, manager research, or investment consulting preferred.
- MBA, Master of Finance/Economics, CFA, CAIA, or FRM are desirable qualifications.
- Experience with private equity, investment execution, and portfolio monitoring is valued.
Responsibilities
- Act as investment execution partner to the Asset Class Director.
- Source and monitor private equity managers; lead due diligence on investments and governance.
- Develop actionable investment recommendations and support implementation across investment, legal, operations and risk.
- Monitor day-to-day manager performance, identifying material developments and changes in conviction.
- Contribute to portfolio construction through analysis of manager fit, diversification, fees, and expected returns.
