Job summary

The Daily Beast in New York City is seeking a Community Manager to grow and engage our audience across Substack, Reddit, YouTube, and our on-site comments platform. The role sits across editorial, social, audience, and product, and you’ll work with editors and producers to keep conversations sharp and on-brand.

• 1-3 years of experience in social media, community management, or digital journalism.

Responsibilities

• Build and execute a Substack community content plan to grow voices and reach.
• Assist with livestream production and community management across Substack, YouTube, and more.
• Contribute to Reddit strategy including posting, commenting, and community building.
• Grow on-site engagement via OpenWeb and collaborate with product on community features.
• Track engagement trends and user behavior across platforms.
• Work with podcast team to cut and publish social video clips for promos.
