Job summary

The Center for Early Success is seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator to expand CES presence by building relationships, coordinating outreach initiatives, and supporting communications. You will manage Connect 360 activities, social media, newsletters, and marketing materials while collaborating with external consultants.

The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working with diverse partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing or PR.
• Experience in community outreach, communications or marketing coordination.
• Strong interpersonal, writing and public speaking abilities.
• Can work independently with initiative and good judgment.
• Experience with nonprofit work and social media management.
• Familiarity with CMS, Canva and email platforms is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

About The Position

The Community Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in strengthening the Center for Early Success’s (CES) presence throughout the region by building community relationships, coordinating outreach initiatives, and supporting effective organizational communications. This position coordinates Connect 360 activities, manages day-to-day social media and communications, and works with external marketing consultants to implement marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, enjoys working with people, and demonstrates initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities.

What You’ll Do

Community Engagement and Partnership Development

• Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, childcare providers, schools, businesses, civic groups, and other stakeholders.
• Proactively identify outreach opportunities, strengthen community partnerships, and increase awareness of CES programs and initiatives.
• Represent CES at community events, meetings, and presentations, including civic and business organizations.
• Support leadership with community presentations, external meetings, and partnership activities.

Connect 360 Coordination

• Coordinate Connect 360 scheduling, community locations, partner participation, resources, staffing arrangements, and event logistics.
• Serve as a primary contact for community organizations interested in hosting or participating in Connect 360 activities.
• Identify opportunities to expand Connect 360’s reach into neighborhoods and communities throughout the region.
• Promote activities, document participation and resources distributed, and provide regular updates on outreach outcomes.

Marketing and Organizational Communications

• Manage CES social media platforms, including content calendars, drafting and scheduling posts, and monitoring audience engagement and growth.
• Serve as the primary liaison with external marketing consultants, coordinating content, design requests, project timelines, approvals, and deliverables.
• Gather program updates, photographs, and community stories for marketing materials, newsletters, and organizational communications.
• Coordinate newsletters and electronic communications, including content development, preparation, and distribution.
• Maintain and update CES website content, coordinating with vendors on technical or design needs.
• Coordinate promotional materials, press releases, and communications for programs and events, including the Annual Symposium and Early Kindergarten Registration.
• Support preparation of organizational reports, presentations, and internal communications as requested.

Planning, Coordination, and Accountability

• Maintain organized schedules and work plans for community outreach, Connect 360, social media, newsletters, and marketing activities.
• Independently monitor deadlines, coordinate with staff and consultants, and ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities.
• Track community engagement, marketing performance, and outreach outcomes, providing regular updates to leadership.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen communication, and increase the effectiveness of outreach activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, public relations, business administration, or related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Experience in community outreach, communications, marketing coordination, or related work.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, writing, and public speaking skills.
• Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Experience with organizational social media and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and availability for occasional evening or weekend events.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

The ideal candidate will also have:

• Experience with nonprofit organizations, website content management systems, email marketing platforms, Canva, and coordinating external consultants or vendors.
