Job summary

Block by Block is hiring a Hospitality Ambassador in Memphis, TN. The role involves working outdoors in all weather, engaging with the public, and maintaining cleanliness of assigned zones. You will contribute to safer, friendlier public spaces while representing the company on street level.

The position offers weekly pay, pay advances, PTO, free uniforms, and employee assistance programs. Prior experience is welcome but not required; training is provided, and candidates must be 18+ with a HS

Responsibilities

• Maintain high visibility at street level and complete tasks to improve the zone assigned.
• Acknowledge pedestrians and provide directions or city information.
• Remove litter, graffiti, and straighten outdoor surfaces; pull weeds as needed.
• Report safety concerns to the Safety Ambassadors and complete daily task reports in English.

Job Description

Job Title: Hospitality Ambassador

Pay Range: $17.00 to $17.00 per hour (Weekly Pay & Pay Advance Before Payday!)

Shift/Schedule:

• Wed. - Sun. from 2:00pm to 10:30pm
• OFF Days = Mon. & Tues.

Requirements:

• Must be able to work outdoors in All weather conditions
• Customer Service (Comfortable engaging with the public at all times)

Valid Driver's License PREFERRED

What You'll Be Doing:

• This role will provide a high level of visibility at the street level to carry out a wide variety of tasksto improve the overall experience and appearance of the zone they are assigned to.Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and/or city information.
• Litter removal -- While moving through the zone with a rolling trash can that has supplies/tools, remove litter: fast food bags, cups, soda cans, cigarette butts, and other debris on the streets/sidewalks and alleys. Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, etc. Pull weeds.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces, such as trash can lids, news boxes, etc.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to the Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios. Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed,which requires being proficient in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.
