Job summary

The State of Indiana is seeking a customer-facing WorkOne specialist to provide Wagner-Peyser employment services, assist with job searches, and guide clients through Indiana Career Connect enrollment.

You will coordinate with regional partners, ensure RESEA compliance, and help employers access services. A high school diploma plus 1+ year of experience is acceptable, with benefits and growth opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 1+ year of customer service experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Gather information from applicants, evaluate qualifications, educational backgrounds, and employment barriers.
• Assist clients with job searching and resume building activities.
• Review assessments, client background, and vocational plan interest to recommend and work with partner programs within the WorkOne offices.
• Recommend and administer assessment instruments and interpret aptitude results.
• Explain services available from other public assistance agencies and make referrals.
• Explain employment opportunities to applicants and advise on next steps.
• Refer clients to appropriate specialists for veterans’ or other programs when needed.
• Utilize data tracking systems to ensure entry of all services provided to job seekers and/or business customers.
• Assist with job/hiring fairs or events for talent recruitment.
• Provide technical assistance for customers using automated systems including ICC programs.
