State of North Carolina - Adult Correction is seeking a Community Employment Program Specialist to coordinate the adult developmental activities program for disabled offenders. The role focuses on wellness, rehabilitation, and transition planning prior to release.

The position is full-time (40 hours/week) with State Benefits, including health insurance and retirement plans. Minimum education requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a human services or related field, with equivalency options

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services or business field from an appropriately accredited institution.
• Or an Associate’s degree in a human services or business field with two years of directly related work experience.
• Or High school diploma/GED with four years of directly related work experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the adult developmental activities program for mentally and/or physically disabled offenders.
• Provide opportunities for wellness management and rehabilitation.
• Monitor progress of offenders assigned to the program and support transition planning prior to release.
• Maintain supplies for program participation and complete required reports.
• Collaborate with program staff, custody and administrative personnel.
