Job summary

Community Housing Innovations, Inc. in Brooklyn, NY seeks an Employment Specialist to build an employment network and provide placement assistance and job readiness training for program participants.

The role supports referrals, documentation, and follow-up with employers to place individuals into permanent, full-time jobs. The position offers a standard 40-hour week with varied scheduling to accommodate outreach and on-site duties in Gowanus/Park Slope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalency of education and work experience as a Placement Specialist/Job Developer.
• Minimum of two years recruiting experience placing candidates in occupations/positions which are in heavy demand.
• Experience marketing program participants to employers within the business community, as well as ability to establish and maintain a network of employer contacts ready to hire program participants into various positions.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains an employment network to facilitate job leads for participants.
• Provide placement assistance and job readiness training to participants and referred clientele.
• Outreach to referral sources and maintain documentation of placement activity (e.g., pay stubs, employment verification).
• Coordinate with Supervisor to identify challenges and advocate for participants and employers.
• Maintain weekly email network of job leads and administer tax credits to employers.
