Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Colorado POST certification or eligibility by date specified.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet Town driving standards.
• Ability to meet POST, legal, Town, and department standards for appointment and continued employment.
• Successful completion of job-related selection requirements including background investigation and medical evaluation.

Aufgaben

• Patrol assigned areas by vehicle or on foot to deter crime and provide visible service.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and stabilize scenes; coordinate resources.
• Investigate offenses; conduct interviews, searches, detentions, and arrests; preserve evidence.
• Prepare accurate reports, citations, affidavits, and other records with proper chain of custody.
• Apply de-escalation and crisis intervention; use force only as authorized and report incidents.
• Enforce traffic laws; investigate collisions and direct traffic; support traffic safety education.
• Protect rights and safety of all persons; practice impartial, trauma-informed policing.
• Engage with residents, schools, businesses, and visitors; participate in community events and problem-solving.
• Coordinate with Eagle County dispatch, fire/EMS, neighboring agencies, courts; assist with mutual aid.
