Job summary

VICARS LANDING is seeking a part-time Wait Staff member to provide table service in the community dining room in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. The role focuses on friendly guest interaction and adherence to dining room policies and safety standards.

Primary duties include taking orders, serving residents and guests, maintaining hygiene and uniform standards, and supporting meal service with teamwork and courtesy.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English, perform simple arithmetic, and follow oral instructions in English.
• Ability to interpret and explain the menu, answer questions, coordinate meal service, and respond to requests.
• Must be able to bend and pick up items from the floor; reach above head to remove items from shelf.
• Ability to work with Members, guests and staff with courtesy, tact and graciousness.
• Fundamental understanding of hospitality, customer service, table service technique, personal hygiene and professional appearance.
• Must be at least 16 years of age to work during school hours.

Responsibilities

• Takes orders, provides service, and requested items graciously and courteously; maintains high customer service for residents and guests.
• Abides by all community policies, procedures, and rules, including attendance.
• Maintains personal hygiene and cleanliness; wears appropriate uniform.
• Attends in-service training and educational seminars as assigned.
• Maintains safe and sanitary conditions of work areas for employees and Members.
• Sets tables and maintains workstations according to policies; keeps pace with responsibilities to avoid interference with service.
• Communicates menu selections, specials, and requests effectively.
• Completes side work: salt/pepper shakers, sugar containers, stock replacement.
• Performs duties as assigned by supervisor; other duties as needed.
