Job summary

The University of New Mexico seeks a Project Manager to coordinate and support multiple community and economic development initiatives under the NM Land Grant Council and Land Grant-Merced Institute in Albuquerque. The one-year term may renew based on funding, with a focus on planning, policy, and stakeholder collaboration.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years related experience; a Master’s in Community Planning or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of related experience.
  • Master’s degree in Community Planning or related field.
  • Experience with land grants, acequias, Pueblos/Tribes in New Mexico.
  • Experience with legislative and administrative public policy matters in New Mexico.
  • Portfolio and writing sample aligned with land grants/tribal communities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and supports smaller-scale projects of intermediate complexity including community and economic development projects in land grant-merced communities.
  • Develops and maintains policies, short- and long-range planning, comprehensive plans, zoning ordinances; coordinates with boards and partners; may develop programs.
  • Oversees activities of smaller scale projects in land grant-mercedes.
  • Researches issues, analyzes solutions, recommends actions for planning documents and projects.
  • Develops feasibility studies for land grant-merced plans and objectives.
  • Assists with funding applications, administering project funds, monitoring status and resource use.
  • Represents UNM to departments and external organizations; may supervise others.
