Job summary

Minnesota City Jobs is seeking a Community Development Director to lead the city’s planning, economic development, parks and recreation, building inspection, code enforcement, and GIS functions.

The Director oversees staff and budgets, guides land use and development activities, supports boards and commissions, and collaborates with residents, developers, businesses, and other government agencies. The role also serves as Zoning Administrator to advance long-term growth goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field with urban planning coursework.
• Seven years of progressively responsible urban planning and economic development experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
• A related master’s degree, economic development certification, and AICP designation are preferred.
